Catch a game, chow down on reasonably priced All-American classics and wonder if you’re on the set of “Cheers.” It happens all the time at the Longboard, a lively restaurant and pub where regulars really do know each other by name. The Longboard is a total surfing immersion experience, from the 35-foot surfboard bar to the 3D wave curling up the ceiling. The restaurant is big on friendly service, camaraderie, regional food specialties and a jumbo dose of pride, as evidenced by its slogan, “the greatest restaurant and pub on planet Earth as we know it.” The menu features seasonal dishes, such as Cajun specials for Mardi Gras and Maine lobster in the fall (the real deal, flown in fresh from the East Coast and bargain priced, too). You can eat in the bar while watching the game on 25 flat-panel TVs or on the cozy back patio. The 1904 building is HB’s oldest, restored to its present form as the Longboard in 1990.
