Another one of Hawthorne's hidden gems. This is some of the best Americanized Chinese food in the South Bay if not all of Los Angeles. If you've tried certain Chinese food staples and been turned off by low-quality meat, bland sauces and too much grease, Little Asia is the glorious corrective. They use fresh white meat chicken breast for their terrific kung pao chicken; the Mongolian beef is bursting with the flavor of fresh green onions; egg rolls are crisp and light, redolent with taste of fresh ginger. They also offer a killer lunch deal. For under $5 you get an egg roll, a crab rangoon, and a heaping portion of the entree of your choice along with rice. (Little Asia also offers this same feal for a few bucks more at dinner time.) The portions are vast, with most entrees being large enough to feed two people.

The food is, indeed, simplified Chinese but it is all prepared to order - no steam tables here! Besides the lunch special, the soups...
