Like most establishments in charming Larchmont Village, La Luna is relatively undiscovered, but it is arguably one of the city's coziest trattorias. The restaurant is distinguished from throngs of interchangeable competitors by its sophisticated yet inviting ambiance, a menu that is far from the usual Southern California trattoria, and fare that is relatively affordable.

The exposed brick walls of the main dining room are adorned with Italian Renaissance art. White linens dress the tables, and each is set with an elegant candle. A more secluded room lies at the rear of the restaurant, behind a kitchen area that has counter seating (a nice feature for solo diners).

The menu offers appetizers like sea bass and salmon carpaccio, and an insalata di Capri. The kitchen also prepares some luxurious risotto dishes. Meats and fish are nicely grilled and complemented with memorable sauces.
