Kappa Restaurant

Although slightly on the dingy side, Kappa has quickly become a neighborhood favorite.  Curiously, the large restaurant  is busiest during breakfast; where the curious order up hearty offerings such as Kappa’s “Spam Mix” (two eggs, green onions, and potatoes mixed with spam).   For dinner, if you are craving Hawaiian, try their short ribs or tripe stew.  And although their Japanese (Okinawa-style via a hispanic owner) might not be as good as other Nippon-centric restaurants in the area, it’s hard to go wrong with some Yaki-Soba here.  The 1950s diner feel of the place is certainly not romantic, but the price is right at Kappa for those willing to take a walk on the wild side of Hawaiian/Japanese fusion.
