Feel the instant NYC loft mood as you arrive, with ambient music, concrete bar and floors, wood barrel chairs and beaded curtains cordoning off one special big roomy booth. K-Zo serves organic, seasonal sushi and small plates—some authentic Japanese, some Euro-Asian influenced (such as ribeye steak in a French/miso sauce). There’s wine and soju cocktails for those who need them, and assorted sake for everyone else—including a exceptional selection of boutique “micro-brews.” Options include Yuki No Bosha (made in a snow dome, comes away with notes of green apple and prune) and Shichi Hon-Yari (from a legendary boutique seller near Kyoto). Some outside seating is available, but know this isn't the liveliest pedestrian part of Culver.

This place gets better every time we go. I would eat there several times a week if my bank account would let me.
