Consistently rated among the top restaurants in Los Angeles since its 2001 opening, Joe’s Restaurant is one of the premiere destinations on the Westside for serious foodies. Executive chef and owner Joseph Miller presides over a kitchen that turns out carefully crafted and well-sourced dishes such as a wonderful New Zealand red snapper with potato scales, wild rice salsify, crispy spinach and a red wine sauce. Virtually every dish will include at least one ingredient that is not only rare but inspired. If you’re ready to spend a little extra, definitely give the seven-course chef’s tasting menu a try. Even at $75, it’s a bargain. Given its premiere reputation, careful attention is paid to the restaurant’s wine selection, with different varietals featured depending on the season. Unlike too many restaurants, your server will actually be able to recommend the perfect wine for your meal. Take advantage of the opportunity.
