With room for only three barstools, the tiny counter at Jaxx is hardly the focal point, yet the atmosphere throughout this bright and spacious primary-color fest is unremittingly diner-esque. So are the prices: $3.95 for a stack of three low-carb, multi-grain pancakes, $3.99 for the cheeseburger combo and $11.95 for a New York steak. There’s lots more on the five-page menu—omelettes, sandwiches, soups, salads, pasta and grilled entrées—but it’s all so reasonable you just may have money left over for dessert. Will it be the $2.25 root beer float, or the $2.25 hot fudge sundae?
