Il Gelato Cafe

This casual boardwalk eatery is owned by a friendly Italian family who make their signature gelato fresh daily. Tart, tangy, sweet, colorful and heaped in oblong metal containers, the confection is garnished with whatever ingredient is in the ice; gelato flavors include tiramisu, hazelnut, blood orange and Nutella. The food is panini heavy. Try the panino caprese stacked high with fresh mozzarella, thick-sliced tomatoes, fresh basil and olive oil ($6.95) or the hot Italian sausage panini ($6.95). Breakfast (eggs, potatoes, fresh omelelets) is served from 7 am until 3 pm daily, making this a great place to go after binge drinking on the same strip the night before.
