A popular spot for good, dependable pastas, fish, chicken and steak dishes, Il Capriccio is one of those neighborhood gems that you might not even notice if you weren’t looking for it. Run by the effusive Mama Flora and the Neiviller family of Naples, the atmosphere is warm and quaint, and the service couldn’t be friendlier – as they say, they’ll treat you like “famiglia.” The pasta menu is big on variety and includes such standouts as rigatoni Antonio and spaghetti del mare, and fans appreciate its good value; most entrees are around $13. After a time without a liquor license, they now serve wine and beer and have a few good choices on offer. It’s small and fills up quickly, especially on the weekends, so reservations are a necessity. But if you don’t get a table, fear not: they’ve opened a second outpost serving primarily pizza only a few blocks away.
