Their egg scrambles, breakfast a la carte plates (breakfast pizza, breakfast salad) and pancakes are popular morning options; their create-a-plate feature allows flexibility for lunch or dinner.  On this stretch of Santa Monica crowded with health-conscious American food options like Basix Café and Eat Well, Hugo’s continues to hold its own as a compromise between the raw vegan efforts of neighboring Leaf Cuisine and the red-meat bacchanal of Hamburger Mary’s.
