It may be off the beaten path, but the Hollywood Canteen has a glamorous past and a hip present. Ensconced between sound studios and industrial buildings, it’s easy to miss, but when it first opened in 1942, the Canteen was the place to be for servicemen and Hollywood starlets (it was also owned by Bette Davis). Now it plays host to movie wrap parties and hipster club nights, which take advantage of its Airstream trailer-turned-lounge and vintage Hollywood feel. The dinner menu isn’t too extensive -- expect pastas, steak and a handful of appetizers.
