These tacos and burritos pass your lips and end up on your hips, but only with the blessing of the Virgin of Guadalupe. There’s a little altar to the maternal figure inside the small taqueria that is both quaint and typical of a Los Angeles eatery. Stop at the ATM machine first because Guadalupe only takes cash—you’d think her holiness would be more flexible than that, but we can adjust. So count your coinage before ordering up a storm of tacos de asada, sopes de pollo and the horchata that will wash it all down. Or stop in and pick up a whole rotisserie chicken for the family on your way home. If your Spanish is on point, then consider asking the kind folks at Guadalupe if they deliver—depending on the distance, they might bring your tacos right to your door.
