This pie shop cum Persian restaurant – resembling, you guessed it, a cottage - is quite popular with the local Persian community (which says a lot for the legitimacy of the traditional dishes they serve). Portions are colossal - go on Sunday and you'll have leftovers for a good portion of the week. The scent of barbequed kebabs, the Green Cottage specialty, floats through the air halfway down the block. The baba ghannouj is also popular, as is the Ghorme Sabzi Stew with fresh green herbs, veal chunks, and kidney beans. The family owned restaurant is typically bustling at lunch, when specials are an absolute steal beginning at $5.99. The dress is casual, there’s easy parking, reasonable prices, and a friendly staff – a true shining star in Los Angeles!
