Come for the tamales, stay for everything else.
Popular food: Tamales -- so good you'll want to take some home; excellent enchiladas, beef dishes, chile verde; choice of fresh corn, blue corn or whole wheat tortillas and all the salsa you could ask for.
Unique food: Sweet tamales (masa mixed with raisins, nuts, vanilla and sugar) for dessert; avocado burrito.
Drinks: Soft drinks, aguas frescas.
Seating: Plenty of tables and chairs.
Ambience: Huge covered patio -- order inside and pick up your food from the window.
Extras/Notes: Great Mexican deli inside with everything from fresh tortilla chips by the pound to packaged spices, masa and chicharrones. Really cheap breakfast specials -- almost everything's under three bucks. Recently moved to Venice/Mar Vista area after 56 years in Santa Monica.
Parking: Street, lot.
