Flake

If eating a bowl of cereal in the privacy of your underwear seems too grim, lonely or (shudder) common, check out newly opened Flake, a cereal bar where a single bowl of the stuff can cost as much as an entire box normally would. Between Flake and the recent debut of Juju, coaxing Angelenos to shell out for breakfast cereal has become a bona fide trend. The questions isn't "Why?" The question is "What banal dining concept will they shamelessly monetize next?" All right, all right... Flake isn't that ridiculous. In addition to 40 options of hot or cold cereal, Flake also serves a variety of simple breakfast dishes (including quiche and fresh fruit), paninis and sandwiches.
