Elephant Bar Restaurant

We know, it’s a chain, but you could do a lot worse than Elephant Bar.   Located near several hotels and on what some call Torrance’s “restaurant row,” Elephant trumps the other spots on the strip (Red Lobster, Soup Plantation etc.).  The South Asian inspired décor and menu are a welcome escape from the everyday options at similar big chain restaurants.  Some of the cuisine is even inspired; the  Wok-Fired Chicken and Lettuce Wraps, for example.   Their tagline is “a dining adventure,” and often, it is here.  Dishes like their Fresh Fish with Roasted Macadamia Nut Beurre Blanc Sauce will certainly take your mouth, at least, elsewhere.  A decent choice for a family outing as well, thanks to a wild décor featuring stuffed elephant heads and a kids menu from $2.95.
