Mix the laid-back atmosphere of a diner with the delicious array of Thai spices, and you've got a sense of Cholada. Booths and tables are designed for comfort and the atmosphere is tidy, if unremarkable. All of this is a foil for the food, however, which is fresh, flavorful and remarkably tasty. If Thai food is all about the spice, then Cholada is right on target. Dishes are sophisticated, but never heavy with oil. The wait staff is helpful and timely without being a burden. Lunch is a straightforward affair, with no time wasted. Cholada is everything a great Thai restaurant should be, with nothing extra, nothing fancy. Any flourishes are placed exactly where they should be: in the food.
