With a gorgeous view of the Marina, Café del Rey is the place to go when you’re ready to spend money on luxuriously prepared entrees. In other words, you don’t just get a plain old pork chop – you get a thick Niman Ranch chop with mustard greens, Granny Smith apple sauce, Lyonaise potato and a whole-grain mustard jus. Every dish is given similar care and attention, but expect to spend over $30 for most of them. Still, every now and then you just have to splurge, right? Café del Rey is the perfect restaurant to tuck away for that weekend when the parents or even your agent makes that rare trip to town and you know they’re picking up the check. Despite its daunting prices, Café del Rey is still as casual as upscale Southern California allows. It’s not a place for flip-flops, but you don’t need a tie, either.
