Serving heaping portions of Northern Italian food (plan to bring some home), C & O Trattoria attracts good-sized crowds on most nights of the week. Luckily, its large indoor room and outdoor patio can accommodate plenty of people so the wait is usually not too bad. Spend the extra 15 minutes to get an outdoor table, though. It’s worth it. While you wait for your food, you can enjoy the free “killer garlic rolls” brought out piping hot from the oven. Wash them down with several glasses of red wine that are charged on the honor system. The atmosphere is--fittingly for C & O’s beachside location—extremely casual. The menu is also large enough that you can find something different to eat even if you come for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you live nearby, delivery and take-out are available.
