A newcomer to Venice, Bondi BBQ serves huge portions of Australian-style BBQ primarily to people already out for a day at the beach.  If you’re unfamiliar with Australian BBQ, expect a much sweeter sauce that relies heavily on onion for its base.  It’s often best to go with one of the daily specials since prices can be a little high if you’re ordering a la carte.  Also, most meals are enough for two so figure that in when you’re deciding what to get.  The atmosphere is friendly with Bondi’s proprietor usually there to greet you while you’re waiting for your food.  There are only a few wooden tables inside so it’s usually advisable to get your order to go and bring it down to the nearby ocean.  Parking is scarce and expensive on weekends.  During the week, a metered space can usually be had without too long a wait.
