Nestled in a quaint little house instead of your standard Valley strip mall, this sushi joint exudes the down-home neighborhood feel of Calabasas that we have all come to know and love (thank you, MTV, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey). The shaded front patio is genuinely charming – if you can squeeze in between the strollers, local celebrities, and local celebrities’ strollers – although the sushi bar is quite entertaining, as well. Do yourself a favor and give up on self-parking in the miniscule lot; just valet with the rest of the Calabasas 30-somethings. And certainly don’t miss the delectable lobster egg rolls, soft shell crab (hand!) roll, and Namazu catfish, which is bathed in ginger and garlic – a lot of garlic - and then deep fried … come on, you actually made it to boot camp once this week, anyway.
