It's too bad that this terrific Oaxacan restaurant is often overshadowed by its neighbor, Osteria La Buca. This unpretentious but nicely decorated restaurant serves authentic Oaxacan dishes including mole (rojo or negro), tasajo, cecina, chorizo, tortas, memelitas, tlayudas and more. Their breakfast menu includes enfrijoladas (4 folded tortillas dipped in bean sauce and sprinkled with cheese and onions), salsa de chicharron (fried pork skin covred with spicy tomato sauce) and chilaquiles rojo or verde. Soups include a basic chicken broth, pozole, caldo de res, a Oaxacan stew known as amarillo and goat stew.
