About
Retreat from the paparazzi of Robertson into Chaya’s cool interior, boasting beamed wood ceilings, geometric skylights, and a central garden of giant bamboo. The decorative Japanese elements – silk hanging lamps, art, and fabrics – give a hint of the cuisine’s focus: French and Italian with Japanese flair, with dishes ranging from sushi rolls to steaks. Chef Shigefumi Tachibe (also of Chaya Venice and M Café de Chaya) skips easily from the simple (oak wood grilled free range chicken Dijon) to the elaborate (Champagne-Parmesan Akita Kamachi rice risotto). Though the starlets shopping nearby at Kitson may come and go, Chaya Brasserie has remained hot for over 20 years.
TIPS: DJ Martin spins lounge music Sunday afternoons and Monday nights; enjoy live jazz Sunday evenings.Reviews about Chaya Brasserie
