Just as Baskin Robbins’ slogan of “31 flavors” generally underestimates the actual number of flavors the ice cream giant rolls out, 21 Choices seems a misnomer given the dizzying array of flavors, toppings, and smoothies available at this high-energy Old Town yogurt purveyor. Just in the realm of chocolate chips alone, there are 10 choices. And this isn’t your average chocolate and vanilla (or even green tea and vanilla) situation. Unique flavors like Mayan chocolate, tangerine, and butterscotch are made fresh daily from premium ingredients like Valrhona chocolate and organic fruit. Toppings run the gamut from the natural (granola and blueberries) to the deliciously artificial (gummy worms and Fruity Pebbles). Servers blend it all together for you on a cold stone. Unfailingly, there is a line curving out the door and up the block on Friday and Saturday nights. With all that consumption, it’s a good thing the cups and spoons are biocompostable.
