The Ruby's branches on the pier are always excellently situated, with waterfront views and a lively, vacation-happy crowd. Done up in '50s diner-style, the waiters and waitresses tend to play up the theme, with funny nametags and huge grins. It's best to go traditional here -- get any of the hamburgers or hamburger variations (turkey burgers, veggie burgers, etc.), or go for a good old tuna melt. Kids always love it at Ruby's, and crying toddlers don't turn heads in the already noisy dining room. Entrees: $5-$10. -- Jade Chang
