"A show not to be missed"

My family missed the shows in San Diego, so we drove to Pasadena on New Year Eve to catch the LA show (as well as the Rose Parade on the next day). All 3 of us (my husband, I and my 9-yr old son) love the show! I've read some reviews from audience who have watched the show, so I paid special attention to the details that's mentioned in the reviews. My eyes were not enough to watch everything I wanted to see, need to see it for second time and third time, to appreciate every details. Talking about the spiritual message, well, the 5000-year Chinese culture is supposed to be very spiritual, and I have learned so much from the show - the story of the brush pen, the story of the poet Li Bai, how the culture was passed down by Yellow Emperor, the story of Monk Jigong, the story of Monkey King... All these stories were well known in China, and they were told for thousands of years to convey a message. Only under the last 60 yrs under the communist regime, the spiritual part of the legends was eradicated, and people treat all these legendary stories as sth made up for fun, and many people from mainland China as well as people in the west, are preoccupied by the material pursuit. I watched the first Spectacular show in 2005 in LA. Even though I came from China and had good education, and thought I knew a lot about Chinese culture, however, I suddenly realized that, as a Chinese, I truly don't know the essence of Chinese culture at all. What Divine Performing Arts shows are more than just a feast of costumes, beautiful choreography, or stories, it revived the deep memory of mine about the essence of the culture. My son was born here. And I am so glad to bring him to the show every year since 2005 to show him what the true Chinese culture is about. I truly appreciate Divine Performing Arts' efforts in showing the world what the traditional Chinese culture is supposed to be. Next year, when DPA comes back, I will definitely come to the show again, and recommend to everyone I know.
