Ford's Filling Station
"The force is strong with this one..."

If you can stand the wait it's worth it. The artisan cheeses and imported salame will make you want to fill up until you throw up. The wine selection is decent. The main dishes are not adventurous--lamb, fish and chips--but it is delicious. The wait staff is well trained (if not always ecstatic if you just want cheese and wine) and friendly. The scene--a bit of a scene, still, for mid-renaissance Culver City. Though the patrons try to make it (dare I indulge the cliche?) "hipster," the Filling Station is salt-of-the-meat, er earth. A consistently good meal served by good people. Ah, and it doesn't hurt that the chef is Han Solo's son.
