Donovan-Leitch

Donovan Leitch's favorite L.A. weekend
Leitch, the actor son of '60s cosmic-folkie Donovan and brother of "Say Anything" icon Ione Skye, lives in Studio City with wife Kirsty Hume and daughter Violet.
Friday is Valley Appreciation Night, which means not dealing with Hollywood traffic. We'd start at Woodbridge Park with a play date for Violet, and then go to dinner at Caioti Pizza on Tujunga. It's famous for "The Salad"; they say if you're pregnant and eat it, you give birth within 24 hours.
Saturday morning I'd head to the art gallery at Pomona College. One of my favorite exhibits was there recently, James Turrell's "Skyscapes." He manipulates celestial beams and the color of the sky within a controlled environment. It's far-out stuff.
I'd grab lunch at Dusty's, a cool hang in Silver Lake. I like the décor, and the produce is organic.
Later I might grab a coffee at Intelligentsia, and next door is Lovecraft Bio-Fuels, where you can get your turbo-diesel Mercedes converted to run on bio-diesel.
I love hot new English bands, and my favorite venues are the Henry Fonda Theater, the El Rey and the Troubadour. So I'll see who's playing where.
Then I'd go to Crown Bar in West Hollywood. It's warmer and more intimate than those big, crazy clubs.
On Sunday I'd get a hike in somewhere. Runyan Canyon is overrun with out-of-work actors. I like Fryman because it's shadier, more magical and woodsy.
Then I'd go to the Studio City Farmers Market, where Violet likes the ponies and the petting zoo, and I like the local produce. Then I'd stop at my sister's house in Laurel Canyon. She has a 5-year-old who'd love to have a pool party with our Violet.
On Sunday evening I'd grab a bite at Bar Marmont, where they have a dining room in back with its own bar, fireplace and patio. You have to go through a private door to get there. It's like spending the night in a speak-easy.
