If all the "Speed Racer" hype has given you a need for speed but you don’t have a Mach 5 of your own, getting behind the wheel of a go-kart can give you the dose of “Go!” you crave. From kiddy carnival ride to hardcore helmet-worthy action, there are go-karts for little drivers and big kids.

There’s nothing juvenile about the racing at K1. Hug the asphalt in go-karts that reach speeds of up to 45 mph or enter the GrandPrix race held on the last Sunday of each month for the chance to take home a shiny trophy and bragging rights.
With five tracks catering to drivers of every size, this park earns its name. Slide through the turns of the double-decker “Super Track” or simulate a road rally on the “Turbo Road Course.” Even toddlers can “speed” around (at about 3 mph) in bat mobiles, army tanks, mini-dragsters and motorcycles on the “Kiddy Track.”
Scaled NASCAR racetracks and 3/4 scale Indy cars offer a taste of professional racing. Keep an eye out and you may even get to meet one of the professionals -- some of NASCAR’s biggest names have made special appearances at Speedzone, including David Ragan, Rusty Wallace, Mark Martin and Kurt Busch.

If a taste of the track isn’t enough, this Riverside park offers a series of classes like “Rookie Go Kart FUN-damentals” and “Passing to Win” in their racing school for ages eight and up.

If it’s your little one who’s convinced they are Speed Racer himself but can’t quite make the five-foot height requirement of most tracks, Golf N’ Stuff has special cars for pint-sized racers.
Boomers lets parents “bring the kids” for some raceway action in the “Kiddie Go-Karts,” but their larger track with faster karts might get mom and dad can behind the wheel too.
In addition to go-karts, this seven-acre family fun center is bursting with wholesome activities, including an arcade, laser tag, mini-golf, bumper boats, batting cages and an ice cream parlor.
