Sean Young's Santa Monica favorites
According to Rolling Stone magazine, the top DVD release of 2007 is going to be a movie from 1982, the sci-fi classic "Blade Runner" starring Harrison Ford and Sean Young. Young made headlines last month when she was escorted from the Director's Guild Awards for heckling -- and then released a statement she was entering rehab. But before all that, she spoke to us about her neighborhood favorites. She lives in Santa Monica with her sons, Rio, 13, and Quinn, 9.
"The anchor to every weekend for me is a class with Bryan Kest at Power Yoga in Santa Monica. It's a beautiful space and experience. The class is difficult, but it's gotten so popular that Bryan had to open another location."
"I also keep in shape by taking dance lessons at Tap Academy while my kids are playing basketball at the Boys and Girls Club. I just started, and even though it's an advanced class, I can get away with it because of all the dancing I did when I was younger. It's really fun too."
"I shop for fruits and vegetables at the Santa Monica Farmers Market, because that's 65% of what I feed the boys. Kids will get their little hands on candy and fries at school and their friends' houses, but if you have healthier alternatives handy, that's what they'll eat."
"A great place for healthy food is Juliano's Raw Planet on Broadway in Santa Monica. And I mean raw -- though they do warm some stuff up. I like the sushi there."
"If I'm meeting friends for drinks, which I don't do very often, I like the old Hollywood vibe at the Viceroy Hotel."
"I usually prefer just getting a pizza from Louise's Trattoria and watching one of the Oscar screeners they send over this time of year. Which reminds me, I hope I'm getting a copy of the new "Blade Runner" DVD. I'd like to see that again."
