This late-night dining institution (it's open until 4 a.m. on weekends) seems to struggle with its letter-grade from the Health Dept. and even recently shut down for day when it became the site of a battle with insect invaders worthy of Starship Troopers. But then again, who doesn't like Starship Troopers? In that spirit, very iffy food doesn't seem to make a difference to the loyal cadre who pack this place night after sodden night. So the orange and brown hues of the Brite Spot continue to beckon in the night and droves of hungry wanderers answer its call of French fries and Budweiser! Tipsiness, after all, drives one to do the darnedest things.
