Sure, there's a newer cleaned-up Skaf's in Glendale, but the original -- anchoring the corner pocket of an archetypal 7-11 Valley mini-mall -- is tough to beat for honest Lebanese (owners admit to serving down home Armenian and Turkish fare, when gently prodded) cuisine. The pitas, hummus, beef stew, shish kebabs, daily specials and 'Lebanese' coffee all hit the spot. Beef shwarma was a bit dry/over-cooked. Shalom. Peace on Earth to one and all. Amen. Sorry, no BYOB, but there's cold Asahi tallboys at the sushi joint next door.
