Burgers + other grilled lunch items are decent + Japanese-ish plate lunches w/ rice good down well.
4. Langer's Deli

Foot-high pastrami + rising. Beware the ultra-greasy latkes. Take home a homemade jar of pickles. Classic. Free, non-obvious parking a couple hectic blocks away; call ahead for curbside pickup. Did you lose something is the gaps of the well-worn booths? Don't fret, I'm betting it's still there.
5. Mama's Hot Tamales Cafe
Westlake
More flavors of authentic tamales from around Mexico and Central America than a gringo can shake a refresco at. Try them all, buen provecho.
