Sure, their petals are messy and hard to clean off your car. But that seems a small price to pay for the wondrous spectacle of jacarandas in bloom, heralding the start of summer. Below, a few choice spots where you can enjoy those short-lived blossoms in all their ultra-vivid, ultra-violet glory.
