Olivia Munn's best of L.A.

Olivia Munn is best-known as a co-host of video game channel G4's "Attack of the Show."  But soon, the Oklahoma-City born personality may be known to a larger demo more than just teenage men.  The beauty has a sizeable part in a film called "The Slammin' Salmon" (directed by Kevin Heffernan) that's due this year.  Here are a few of her picks around town when she is not working out of G4's Wilshire Blvd. studio on segments.

1. Alcove Cafe and Bakery   Los Feliz

Crowded a lot of the time, but unlike some LA places that are crowded only because they've been written about in US Weekly, this one is worth the wait. They have delicious, large portions. I get the omelet with zucchini, chicken and cheddar cheese, side of toast and fresh fruit. The people are so nice and helpful, no matter how busy they are.

2. Firefly   Studio City

It's the Valley so you don't have to deal with any doorman/bouncer attitude. It's big inside so there's always room, but still dark and cozy so you feel like you're having an experience, not just out a bar. They have good food, nice bartenders and an attentive wait staff.

3. Casa del Mar   Santa Monica

There are a lot of great surfing spots that you hear about...but this one (Bay Street, right near Casa Del Mar) is the easiest to see and is often overlooked. Two lifeguard stations south of the Santa Monica pier, there is a great break and it's not crowded. To me, it's just about having space and being able to ride a handful of waves. Also, the metered parking is pretty good around there. Just bring quarters!
