LA Mill is a terrible addition to Silverlake, completely out of step with the neighborhood and everything around it. It belongs on 5th avenue with everything else inauthentic. Nothing this shiny belongs in Silverlake.

Perhaps it would be acceptable if it were also good. But the purchase of a simple cappuccino there is a 10 minute drama with mixed to poor results. All the pooh-poohing about coffees snobbery yields a mediocre product that costs a fortune.

There are at least 4 better coffee shops within 1 mile of this joint, Silverlake Coffee and Intelligencia being foremost among them. Not only are the products superior, but they are a part of the neighborhood, not some sleazy pretender striving to associate itself with how people actually live.

the verdict? LAMill: sstay away. far away.
