There's something magnificent about this place. Maybe it's the pickled eggs (something I wouldn't even THINK about ordering anywhere else, but here they seem just right), or maybe it's 'the sandwich,' which gets extra points for not requiring anything more specific to get one handed to you. Or maybe it's the fact you can consume both of these things and a pint in the corner of this lively bar and let the afternoon glide gently and perfectly by as you read a book or watch kids run around the pool table. Suddenly it's not Long Beach outside, it's not even California anymore. It's just really good.
