There is no lovelier spot in L.A. I'm not a big fan of the permanent collection, but the photography shows are generally very strong. But it's worth a trip here for the view alone--and the sense of tranquility that is unparalleled in this city. Something about the surrounding, scrubby landscape reminds me of Tuscany. The gardens are divine, the restaurant a real treat (especially at sunset), even the tram ride feels special--like you are entering another world.
