Vroman's is one of the premier bookstores in Pasadena and perhaps all the Southland. In fact, in March 2008, Publishers Weekly's named the venerable 114 year-old bookstore as Bookseller of the Year. Vroman's periodical section is renowned, big-name and lesser-known authors appear here reguarly, and the Zeli Coffee Bar is a pleasant part of its operation. Sit in a window seat and watch the people go by — or, more literally at this shopping area — watch the people go "buy."
Bonus: There's a sizable parking lot located directly behind the store. Plus, it's on pedestrian-friendly Colorado Blvd., where you're in walking distance of dozens of eateries as well as the Laemmle's Playhouse 7 movie theater.
