1969 is practically the paleolithic era in L.A. nightlife, so it's an extra point of pride that the Baked Potato managed to survive since then by providing a woefully under-appreciated service in L.A.- top-flight live jazz. The Studio City joint keeps the focus on its music and gourmet spuds (the name's no joke- they really do bake potatoes), and it's earned its cache among jazzbos as one of the three best venues (along with Jazz Bakery and Catalina) to get your beatnik on.
