A roundup of the best artists in rock, electronica and more from up-and-comers to icons, Coachella is one of the finest music festivals in the world. Setting aside the obvious logistical issues that accompany a three-day festival in the desert, Coachella's upside is its downside: With so many artists simultaneously performing across the event's five stages, it's impossible to see it all. Late addition Prince, and Pink Floyd architect Roger Waters are musts on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, but hard choices remain ferreting the wheat from the wheat among the rest of the acts performing, including: Jack Johnson, the Verve, the Raconteurs, the Breeders, Fatboy Slim, Tegan and Sara, Madness, the Swell Season and the National playing April 25; Portishead, Kraftwerk, Death Cab For Cutie, Cafe Tecuba, Sasha & Digweed, Rilo Kiley, Dwight Yoakam, M.I.A., Hot Chip, Cold War Kids, Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks and Devotchka playing April 26; and Love & Rockets, My Morning Jacket, Spiritualized, Justice, Gogol Bordello, Chromeo, the Streets and Metric playing April 27.
