Know something we don't?
Fancy a nice panini? Or maybe just a tasty espresso made from Danesi beans? Then Froma is your new favorite small shop/deli. For Fairfax district locals, Froma has become a sort of one-stop gourmet shopping experience you'd expect to find in Manhattan, or perhaps even Milan.
Open since July of 2007, Froma fills a badly needed niche for an upscale deli that has a real neighborhood feel. And while you can't get everything you need here (the shop carries a few pasta brands, imported olive oils, multiple cheeses and sodas etc.), patrons on the go can order up salads, cheese plates or even breakfast (their egg-centric breakfast paninis are fantastic).
The small shop and wine bar is run by Sommelier Francine Diamond, who is from Quebec, and her husband, who is from Italy. Diamond's wine expertise shows at Froma, and the small space hosts wine events (with cheese pairings) on a weekly basis. A little Lambrusco to go with that La Quercia Rossa prosciutto?
Oui, we say.
