Know something we don't?
Tropicalia--named after the energetic, beat-centric 60s Brazilian musical movement--doesn’t radiate the sultry heat and raw energy of Brazil but it does serve flavorful dishes that will make you long for Rio. It’s located next door to Vinoteca and Farfalla (which are under the same ownership) and features a casual set up with simple wooden furniture and a TV that may be tuned to soaps or soccer. Though meats, marinated and doused in sauce, figure prominently on the menu, don’t expect churrascaria-style excess; the portions are large enough but won’t leave you comatose. The Brazirib (braised for four hours) and salad Brasileira win special raves, as does the ceviche appetizer – served with Brazilian guacamole. And no meal here is complete without an order of chewy fried plantains.
TIPS: An adjacent wine bar offers nearly 50 options by the glass. Brazilian beer is also available. Both are available for take out purchase.
