About
Rambunctious, half-clad revelers take over the Queen Mary to down caipirinhas, demonstrate capoeira and dance the samba at Brazilian Nites. The party kicks off with the gyrations of Samba Queen Maisa Duke in all her beaded, feathered glory. Singer Bahiana Dandara (the "Brazilian Tina Turner") and her Pra Gandaia band lead the Afro-Caribbean beats followed by over 30 percussionists and four dance companies, probably with little more than a yard of cloth among them. If the three floors of madness aren't enough, live feeds from Rio and Sao Paolo will be piped in for inspiration. Lest one forget the perils of thoughtless partying, the event features green and recycled decorations in keeping with this year's "Preservation of the Planet" theme.
