El Pollo Inka

This is the original El Pollo Inka, specializing in pollo a la brasa (rotisserie chicken) and lomo saltado, beef sautéed with tomatoes, onions and French fries. They serve big, tasty plates of ceviche. Another delicious specialty is the aguadito, a wonderfully green cilantro and chicken soup with short-grain rice that's been so thoroughly cooked down it's more like tiny lumps of rice meal. Wash it all down with strawberry or mango fruit shakes, Inca Kola (that noxiously colored South American soft drink that tastes like a cross between bubblegum and cream soda), beer, wine or cocktails. Don't miss out on the desserts; this is one of the few places in town to make alfajores (Peruvian caramel stuffed cookies) and picarones (crunchy pumpkin fritters, weekends only).
