Amsterdam’s decor is painful to look at but it meets a very functional purpose, and that is to feed the functionaries of the 9-to-5 world with coldcut sandwiches, green salads, beef and chicken bowls and daily soups. You want a bag of chips with that? No problem, this is the place you can get your baked Doritos on. It may be located at one of the busiest stretches of Wilshire at Catalina, but Amsterdam doesn’t stay open past 6 p.m. So if you need that post-cubicle nap pick-me-up then head there for a pre-wrapped cookie and weak coffee. Or you can just pack that cookie to go and head further west on Wilshire for your early happy hour.
