Times Description

As Hollywood's oldest restaurant, Musso & Frank Grill takes diners back to the days of Charlie Chaplin and Douglas Fairbanks, both of whom used to eat there. One steps inside from the boulevard into a dimly lit dining room that's undergone very few changes since opening in 1919. People come to get a taste of Old Hollywood along with American and Continental fare. The red leather booths, dark mahogany counter and even the wait staff seem like they've seen it all. Known for its martinis and dishes like the Welsh rarebit, one can't go wrong with a perfect steak and one of the daily specials. Grab a drink or meal before a film noir screening at The Egyptian and soak in the inspiration that Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett found in those booths long ago.

TIPS: Flannel pancakes (a tasty, thin hotcake that's halfway between a crepe and pancake) are a favorite and served only until 3 p.m. The famed chicken pot pie is only available on Thursdays. Parking is available with validation for a few dollars.

Pair a good steak with a lemon martini, and feel like a movie star. This place is classic, and the waiters are true professionals.

A little too archival and dusty for me, but I guess this is a good staple for locals to kill some time until the next audition they lose.
