Times Description

When it opened in May 2008, many locals were hoping that Hollywood had finally got all-night eatery it deserves in Kitchen 24, which serves American Diner cuisine reinterpreted by executive chef David Rosenberger using fresh, organic ingredients. The joint is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and alcohol is served 6 a.m. - 2 a.m. daily.

Since then, many of the more interesting and ambitious dishes have been slashed from the menu -- 7 in the breakfast section, alone. You can still get the basics: eggs and bacon, burgers, fries, sandwiches, meatloaf and spaghetti.

Does ordering a Cahuenga Morning (pineapple juice, fresh-squeezed OJ, amaretto, pureed raspberries and champagne) with your pancakes make you a lush? Probably. But so what? Don't let anyone shame you for sipping a fruity Velvet Rosa (rum, peach schnapps, cranberry juice & champagne) or adding a liberal dose of liqueur to your morning coffee. There's no law saying you have to, but you might want to order some actual food to go with that all booze. On the breakfast menu, the Bartender's Banquet balances sweet and savory: half a waffle topped with strawberries and cream alongside eggs scrambled with bacon, onions, salsa and sour cream on a wheat tortilla.

The lunch menu, served 24 hours a day, consists of a daily soup special (tomato, carrot ginger, clam chowder, etc.), a selection of common salads, burgers, sandwiches (meatball, Monte Cristo, Reuben, BLT, barbecued brisket, curry chicken salad), turkey pot pie and macaroni and cheese that tastes more like alfredo than true M&C. Served from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., dinner adds a handful of entrees including fish and chips, roasted chicken and pork chops.

And what meal would be complete without a dessert cocktail? When mint chocolate chip ice cream doesn't pack enough punch, try the Adult Swim, a pioneering moment in the fusion of dairy and alcohol: Stoli vanilla + Baileys mint chocolate a scoop of mint ice cream. Kitchen 24 also serves non-alcohol-based desserts: cupcakes, apple pie, brownie sundaes and milkshakes.

THE SERVICE IN THIS PLACE IS ATROCIOUS! For those who posted before that you'd come back in a month - don't even put forth the effort; nothing has changed. I came in with a group of 6 at 11:15 pm on a Saturday. We got seated right away but then...

    "Food Rocks, Staff Does not"

Great food, highly recommend. Staff- is Lacking! Need to smarten up your staff, especially those who greet customers and take phone orders to go.

I've already been there twice in the last week and was thoroughly impressed. The DJ played great music, the staff was friendly and the food was creative and tasty. They even had fresh, gourmet cupcakes to die for - the Oreo cupcake was delicious! Definitely recommend Kitchen 24 to everyone....
