For a good meal in a central Hollywood location, Geisha House is tough to beat. With two front doors comprising a photomural of a geisha's mouth, the venue is visually striking right off the bat. Combine eye-popping graphics, a multi-leveled fireplace, live DJs, exotic eats and Geisha House seduces even the most cynical restaurant-goer. As one of the Dolce Group's properties, the red-hued bi-level restaurant/lounge opened with fanfare and a built-in cachet thanks to celebrity investors. It's managed to rise above Hollywood's fickleness and continues to pack in the tables with both locals and visitors looking for a celeb sighting or a decent meal before hitting up a club like MOOD (a stone's throw away). The food is actually quite good: the Kobe beef and the black cod with miso melt in your mouth. Sushi rolls are bestowed names like the Frightened Geisha (torched salmon atop spicy tuna and cucumber) and the Hollywood (crab, avocado and cucumber tempura), but the cheesy nomenclature won't matter after you take a bite. A fresh Japanese fruit plate offers a light alternative for dessert. Top off the meal with a signature cocktail like the Geisha's Kiss as well as a visit from one of the geishas circulating the room to make the trip worthwhile. 

TIP: For a romantic date and a little less noise, request a table upstairs.
