Better yet, just wait in the five-car-long queue waiting outside the store's underground parking garage, that should give you some indication that for a massive, OCD-plagued segment of the population, there's still plenty of room for CDs and vinyl -- not to mention a DVD section that draws plenty of L.A.'s cinefiles. To say much more about a city block-sized record store would only be redundant, but as if racks and racks of used, new and rare music weren't enough to pull people in Amoeba also has a quality calendar of free shows that make it one of the best bets for broke aspiring actors to catch their favorite band for zilch. It's down the block from the parade of human outrageousness that is the Cahuenga corridor, but we prefer to walk a couple blocks to Bowery or Tiny's K.O. for shots to celebrate rare record finds.
